The recent big update in this regard was by the German automaker Mercedes Benz and the chip maker NVIDIA who will be joining hands to give car owners the ability to add new software updates to their vehicles, keeping them up always to date with new features. This will also include software updates that support higher and advanced levels of automated driving.
The automobile enthusiasts are looking forward to this joint venture which is being considered one of the most advanced and sophisticated structures that has ever been launched in the auto industry. Initially, Mercedes Benz plans to offer some of the vehicle software updates as part of a subscription service, including some specialized automated driving functions.
These vehicles will be featuring NVIDIA's powerful DRIVE AGX Orin processors which includes sensors for auto driving options. These chips will be incorporated in the Mercedes entry-level A-Class to S-Class models which will come with the advanced and up-gradable software-based architecture.
In simple words, drivers of these future Mercedes Benz software defined cars will be able to add automobile convenience apps to their vehicles just like the Apple iPhone and Android device owners can add new apps to their smartphone devices.
